Tuesday, 9 December, 2025 The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved the release of $1.2 billion (over ₹10,000 crore) to cash-strapped Pakistan, which is known for its begging bowl diplomacy. In a statement, IMF said its executive board completed two reviews of Pakistan's economic programmes, clearing about $1 billion under its main loan facility and another $200 million from a climate-focused programme.
