Amid Opposition parties criticising the Election Commission over its alleged inaction against violations of the Model Code of Conduct, former President Pranab Mukherjee praised the poll body for the "perfect" elections. "If democracy has succeeded, it is largely due to perfect conduct of elections by Election Commissioners starting from Sukumar Sen to the present Election Commissioners," Mukherjee said.
