Portugal has said it would suspend all flights to and from UK from Saturday over the new coronavirus strain. PM Antonio Costa said the measure was taken to reduce the "risk of contagion" due to the new variant which is spreading across Portugal. The British-identified variant, which is said to be 70% more transmissible, was first reported on December 14.
