The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday said that though both the states want Chandigarh as its joint capital and are enjoying its benefits, they do not want to contribute towards its development and conservation. The court was hearing a case pertaining to the raising of illegal constructions in the catchment area of Sukhna Lake.
