The Punjab government has issued guidelines for releasing ₹50,000 ex-gratia to the families of those who died due to COVID-19. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 16,554 people have died of the coronavirus infection in the state so far. Currently, there are 226 active COVID-19 cases in Punjab.
