After a pregnant woman approached Madras High Court for being declared unfit for taking 0.30 seconds extra during a running test for selection of Grade-II Constable, the bench said the timing should be considered negligible and she should be selected. Though rules required finishing 100-metre race within 17.50 seconds, the court said her participation itself is a sign of courage.
