A 39-year-old taxi driver named Mohommad Akhtar Ansari, who witnessed the Mumbai foot overbridge collapse on Thursday said many lives were saved as the traffic signal light opposite to the CSMT station was red and no cars were there. A slab of the bridge collapsed and damaged his car's front portion. Both Ansari and his passenger managed to escape unhurt.
