Red states fuel US solar boom despite Trump pushback

The US added 11.7 GW of solar capacity in Q3 2025, its third-largest quarter ever, with most growth coming from states Trump won. Despite federal policies slowing progress, solar and storage made up 85% of new power additions. Analysts warn that 73 GW of pending projects face risks of political delays or cancellations.
