Rising fuel, weak rupee threaten India's aviation profits

India's aviation sector shows modest demand recovery, with domestic traffic up 4% YoY and international travel growing 8%. However, rising jet fuel prices (+6% QoQ) and a weakening rupee (-2%) threaten profitability. JP Morgan's analysis warns that low yield growth may not offset higher costs, making airlines sensitive to fuel and forex fluctuations despite stabilising traffic.
