Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday said Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, must be awarded the Bharat Ratna, country's highest civilian award. Other people also contributed to freedom struggle other than the Nehru-Gandhi family, he added. He also said Pakistan would not have been created if Savarkar had been India's Prime Minister during partition.
