West Bengal Police enforced Section 144 to stop the BJP from holding rallies in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. BJP leaders Sayantan Basu and Malati Rava Ray were detained on their way to a rally on Sunday. Police also registered a case against Basu and Bengal Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha President Debjit Sarkar for holding a meeting on Monday.
