September retail inflation rises to 3.77%, stays below target

Driven by higher food and fuel prices, India's retail inflation rose marginally to 3.77% in September from 3.69% a month ago. However, it remained below the Reserve Bank of India's medium-term target of 4%. Earlier this month, the central bank kept the repo rate steady at 6.5% and has projected inflation of 4.8% by June 2019.
