BJP National President Amit Shah won the Gandhinagar seat held by veteran party leader LK Advani, beating nearest rival Congress' CJ Chavda by 5.57 lakh votes. With this, Shah broke the record of Advani, who had won the seat in 2014 by a margin of 4.83 lakh votes. Notably, Amit Shah was contesting Lok Sabha elections for the first time.
