Social media profiles of users need to be linked with Aadhaar numbers to check the circulation of fake, defamatory and pornographic content as also anti-national and terror material, the Tamil Nadu government told the Supreme Court on Monday. Tamil Nadu government is facing resistance from Facebook. Facebook told the state government that sharing Aadhaar would violate the users' privacy policy.
