South Pole warmed 3 times faster than rest of the world in last 30 years: Study

The South Pole warmed more than three times more rapidly than rest of the world over the past 30 years, according to a study by climate researchers published in peer-reviewed journal Nature Climate Change. It experienced record-high warming of 0.61 ± 0.34 °C per decade. The warming resulted from a cyclonic anomaly in Weddell Sea from increasing sea surface temperatures.
