Calcutta High Court has directed NHRC to constitute a committee to examine post-poll violence in West Bengal. Saying that "no concrete steps" were taken by Bengal government on the issue, HC said, "In a case where allegation is that life and property of the [state's] residents are in danger...the state cannot be allowed to proceed in the manner it likes."
