A 42-year-old Pattali Makkal Katchi functionary named Ramalingam was allegedly murdered by unidentified men on Tuesday night in Thirubuvanam, Tamil Nadu. Earlier in the day, Ramalingam had an argument with several people, who he claimed were trying to convert some Dalits in the area to Islam. Meanwhile, 250 policemen have been posted in the area over fears of communal unrest.
