Security personnel in Manipur's Ukhrul district reportedly fired tear gas shells during a confrontation with Naga women protesting the presence of an Assam Rifles outpost at New Heaven. The local organisations alleged it was established without the consent of village authorities and demanded its removal. They claimed it violated provisions of Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act, 1956.
