Telangana government on Wednesday imposed a ban on spitting in public places and institutions as a measure to contain the spread of COVID-19. "Spitting of paan/any chewable tobacco or non-tobacco product, etc, in public places and institutions is banned with immediate effect," an official notification read. "It's of utmost need to impose restrictions on unhealthy practices," it further read.
