A 135-year-old temple of Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari was decorated with currency notes and gold ornaments worth ₹8 crore for Navratri. Pictures of the temple showed currency notes on walls and floor and hanging from trees. "It's public contribution and will be returned once the puja is over. It won't go to temple trust," the temple committee said.
