Astronomers have said there could be a "missing ingredient" in the theories of how dark matter behaves. They found a discrepancy between observations of dark matter concentrations in three clusters of galaxies and theoretical computer simulations of how dark matter should be distributed in clusters. The study involved observations from the Hubble Space Telescope and ESO's VLT in Chile.
