Two independent teams of astronomers have discovered three infant planets in orbit around a four-million-year-old newborn star about 330 light-years from Earth. Using a new planet-finding technique that identifies unusual gas flow patterns, the astronomers identified three discrete disturbances in the young star's gas-filled disk, saying it was the strongest evidence of orbiting planets.
