Japan-based Toyota Motor remained the world's top-selling automaker, defending its title for a third straight year. The firm sold 10.5 million vehicles in 2022. Toyota was followed by Volkswagen which reported its lowest-ever sales in over a decade of 8.3 million vehicles earlier this month. Toyota's production forecast for the current financial year through March-end is 9.2 million vehicles.
