The UK's Standard Life, the foreign partner in HDFC Life Insurance Company, has sold a 3.3% stake in the insurer for ₹3,225 crore. Standard Life sold a 1.78% stake in HDFC Life in May and a 4.9% stake in March. It has been trimming its stake to help the Indian insurer meet SEBI's minimum public shareholding norms.
