President of the UN General Assembly María Fernanda Espinosa expressed her solidarity with those affected by the floods in India. Espinosa's spokesperson said, "[Espinosa] sent her condolences to the people and the Government of India after the monsoon floods in the southern and western parts of the country." The floods have reportedly killed 225 people and lakhs have been evacuated.
