Retired Supreme Court judge AK Patnaik, who was appointed by the top court to monitor the Central Vigilance Commission inquiry against ex-CBI Director Alok Verma, said the decision to remove Verma was "very, very hasty". "There was no evidence against Verma regarding corruption. The entire inquiry was held on (CBI Special Director Rakesh) Asthana's complaint," he stated.
