Volkswagen agrees to pay up to $127 mn to settle diesel scandal

Volkswagen said on Monday that it agreed to pay between $87 million to $127 million to settle a lawsuit brought on behalf of several Australian customers over the global diesel emissions scandal. In 2015, it was revealed that about 11 million Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda vehicles worldwide were fitted with illegal defeat devices that were designed to cheat emissions tests.
