German carmaker Volkswagen is preparing to shut down most of its European plants for two-three weeks to curb the spread of coronavirus, CEO Herbert Diess said. The company will suspend production in Italy, Portugal, Slovakia and Spain before end of this week. Diess added that 2020 will be a "very difficult year" as pandemic poses "unknown operational and financial challenges".
