Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during a Parliamentary discussion on electoral reforms on Tuesday, questioned amendments related to election surveillance. He asked, "Why was a law brought in that allows the Election Commission to destroy the CCTV footage 45 days after the polls? What is the need?" He further described the move as a case of "election stealing".
