Speaking at a virtual event at the UN on Xinjiang, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said the US will keep "speaking out until China stops its crimes against humanity and genocide of Uyghurs and other minorities in Xinjiang". Meanwhile, Britain's UN Ambassador Barbara Woodward described the situation as "one of the worst human rights crises of our time".
