Women may get death penalty for defying Iran's new morality laws

Women in Iran may be jailed for up to 15 years, fined over ₹12 lakh or even get death penalty under the new morality laws. The laws, which promote "the culture of chastity and hijab", prescribe harsh penalties for promoting nudity, indecency or improper dressing. The laws also grant immunity to those enforcing compulsory veiling as religious duty.
