World's largest freshwater pearl auctioned for ₹2.5 crore

The world's largest known freshwater pearl was auctioned for over ₹2.5 crore on Thursday in the Netherlands. The pearl is known as the 'Sleeping Lion' due to its distinctive shape and once belonged to the Russian Empress Catherine the Great. The auctioneers said that the jewel weighs around 120 grams and is about 2.7 inches long.
