23 Army personnel missing after cloud burst in Sikkim
The Defence PRO Guwahati has said, "Due to a sudden cloud burst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim, a flash flood occurred in Teesta River in Lachen Valley. Some Army establishments along the valley have been affected and efforts are on to confirm details." "Twenty-three personnel have been reported missing...Search operations are underway," it added.

After a report claimed that New Delhi asked Ottawa to withdraw 41 diplomats by October 10, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said Canada wants private talks with India to resolve the diplomatic dispute. India win most medals in an Asian Games edition as archers Jyothi, Ojas bag gold
Indian archers Ojas Pravin Deotale and Jyothi Surekha Vennam bagged gold medal in the compound mixed team event after defeating South Korea at the 19th Asian Games in China's Hangzhou.
