Germany refuses Intel's demand for more chip plant subsidy: Report
Germany's Finance Minister Christian Lindner told Financial Times that the country won't be able to meet Intel's demand for higher subsidies for its €17-billion chip plant. "There's no more money available in the budget. We're trying to consolidate the budget right now, not expand it," Lindner said. Intel has reportedly increased its subsidy demand from €6.8 billion to €10 billion.
