The Taliban fighters have captured Pul-e-Alam, the capital of Logar province and around 70 km from Kabul, according to a local provincial council member. The Taliban captured all of Logar province and detained its provincial officials, another local lawmaker said on Saturday. Separately, the Taliban has also launched a multi-pronged attack on the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, an official said.
