Raccoons are driven by curiosity, solve puzzles for fun: Study

A study by UBC researchers found raccoons solve puzzles for the fun of it. During experiments, raccoons continued solving puzzles long after retrieving the only food reward available. This behaviour reflects that they are driven by curiosity and information-seeking rather than hunger. They also adjusted their strategy based on cost and risk, which is similar to how humans make decisions.
