China's capital city Beijing has reported its first locally transmitted Omicron coronavirus variant case on Saturday ahead of the Winter Olympics, state media reported. Authorities have sealed off the infected person's residential compound and workplace and collected 2,430 samples for testing, an official said. The Beijing Winter Olympics is scheduled to take place from February 4 to 20.
