A study surveying 4,093 adolescents in Bengaluru found that 33.33% reported consuming alcohol before the legal age, while 17.84% said they used tobacco. The median age at which both males and females had their first drink was 17 years. However, some males reported having their first drink at eight years of age, while some females had it at seven.
