Philanthropy if done in a structured way can help you save your taxes. The Income Tax Act, 1961 allows you to claim tax benefits on money donated to charitable institutions registered under section 80G. The donor must have the donation receipt and Form 10BE as an acknowledgement to claim the tax benefit.
