The Maharashtra government on Thursday demanded 40 lakh Covaxin and 50 lakh Covishield doses from the Centre to increase the vaccination coverage in the state. The demand was made during PM's meeting with the CMs on the prevailing COVID-19 situation. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray skipped the meeting citing health reasons and deputed Health Minister Rajesh Tope in his place.
