Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios is reportedly seeking to have his assault charge dismissed on mental health grounds. Kyrgios was charged with "common assault" in a "domestic relationship" for a January 2021 incident involving his former girlfriend. In February 2022, Kyrgios said he battled depression and substance abuse around the time of the 2019 Australian Open.
