Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while holding a press conference in Mumbai to mark PM Narendra Modi-led BJP government's nine years, said, "Poor, Dalits and backward classes...are being attended to with provisions of basic needs." She highlighted that the Centre has constructed over 3.5 crore pucca houses and over 11.72 crore toilets, and has given gas connections to 9.6 crore families.
