South Korea reported over 13,000 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the highest single-day spike since the pandemic began. With 13,012 cases, the country exceeded the previous high of 8,571 cases which was reported a day before. Health officials said the daily numbers could even go beyond 30,000 over the next few weeks.
