Maharashtra Excise Minister Shambhuraj Desai has directed officials of the department to invoke the Maharashtra Control Of Organised Crime Act against people "bringing even one bottle of liquor from Goa". He told the officials to send those smuggling liquor to the police administration. Desai also asked authorities to set up temporary checkpoints on the smaller routes between Goa and Sindhudurg.
