Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto on Friday said that Finland has no plans at present to join NATO. His comment comes amid heightened security tensions between Finland's neighbour Russia and Ukraine. Notably, Haavisto made the comment after a Russian government spokesperson on Wednesday said that Russia would view Finland joining NATO as "an instrument of confrontation".
