US President ‌Donald Trump on Tuesday said he has been informed that Iran shot down ​a US Apache helicopter ​that was patrolling the ⁠Strait of Hormuz ​overnight. "There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured," he wrote on Truth Social. "Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack," he added.
