Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav has announced a tiger reintroduction plan for West Bengal's Buxa Tiger Reserve. The reintroduction will be carried out as per the National Tiger Conservation Authority's (NTCA) guidelines. A plan to transfer tigers from Assam to the reserve was put on hold in December last year due to the presence of villages inside forest areas.
