Delirium could be a risk factor for dementia, finds study

A study published in the journal The BMJ found that delirium, characterized by sudden change in a person's usual mental state and includes symptoms such as agitation, confusion or being unable to stay focused when awake, is a strong risk factor for dementia and death among older people. This condition is much more common in hospital patients and older people.
