A 26-year-old man from Puducherry, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai's Pammal suburb for weight loss surgery, died following complications related to anaesthesia. The man, S Hemachandran, worked in the IT sector from home and weighed 150kg. He was about to undergo metabolic and bariatric surgery when he encountered difficulties shortly after anaesthesia.
