American rapper Eminem kneeled on the stage after performing his 2002 hit 'Lose Yourself' during the Super Bowl LVI halftime show at California's SoFi Stadium. It was an apparent tribute to former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick first used the kneeling gesture in 2016 during the US national anthem as an act of protest against police brutality and racial discrimination.
